Here at Festival Flags we offer a full Crew Install option for you Festival, wedding or event. Here one of our Crew Install teams tells us a little bit more:
Q: How long does it take to install the flags?
That really depends on how many; I’d say 10- 15 minutes per flag
Q: What is the typical set up like?
First we need to agree with the event organizer what type of flags or bunting they would like, pack the van and hit the road. We aim to arrive in plenty of time to look over the site and agree with production where and what colours will be used where, giving the site the best possible impact with their chosen flags. We aim to erect the flags leaving us at least 1 day between finishing the job and the gig starting, this is to give time to make any adjustment necessary before showday. We also check the flags and supporting structures on a regular basis though out the weekend.
Q: What is the most rewarding part of the job?
Seeing the flags up and looking great is always good – I also get a lot of love from the people at the event when they see me working on the flags – they’re pretty impressed!
Q: What kind of work do you need to do throughout the festival?
Sometimes take a few flags down and replace them if any ripping has accrued, but mostly just checking morning and evenings to make sure everything is still up correctly and looking good.
Q: What is the hardest part of your job?
Probably getting the flags down after a long weekend; with the set up before and then the maintenance throughout getting the flags down is always while not necessarily hard, definitely my least favourite bit – there’s no big wow at the end like there is when you’re putting them up!
Q: Do you have any funny/ entertaining stories involving the flags at at festival?
People climbing poles, bumping into lads using flags as blankets, there’s loads – more so at festivals than the more corporate events.
